Hey Chefs, I Dare You Add the Wrong Ingredients to My MEAT OFFERING

Praise the Lord Grace & Peace, great people of our Great God…JESUS!

I am more than cognizant of the fact that many people in these last and evil days, who have tasted of the goodness of God, walk as if they have not been influenced by the example that Jesus Christ presented to us to live by! Many are ignoring willingly the requirements that have been established, in order to live this LIFE to live again. There are so many creating their own recipe of how the gospel of Jesus Christ is to be presented and lived; proving that their recipe is not in compliance with the unadulterated truth found in Jesus Christ! I recall that Zophar stated in Job 11:4-6 “For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes. But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee; And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.”

Hence, for this Golden Nugget the Lord has impressed upon me the thought Hey Chefs, I Dare You Add the Wrong Ingredients to My MEAT OFFERING” To provoke further gospel provocation, I present the following scriptures to support my premise!

(Lev 2:1-4) “And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon: And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD: And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire. And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.”

(1Pe 2:21-24) “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ was the only perfect man with a perfect heart that has ever walked this earth. He was perfect in thought, perfect in word, and perfect in action. In Jesus Christ every moral quality was met in divine order, and therefore He was perfect in proportion. In Him was exquisitely blended majesty and a gentleness, which rendered perfect peace in His presence. It was the purity of His presence that validated his rebuke toward the Scribes and the Pharisees; while the poor Samaritan, and the woman labeled as a sinner, found themselves unaccountably, yet irresistibly drawn to Him.

As I perpetually strive to be a student in Jesus Christ, I could not overlook one of the five Levitical Offerings that pointed to my Lord and Savior; “Jesus the Son of Mancalled the Meat Offering, and how it had to be offered distinctly by the Priest for the children of Israel. Since the Burnt offering typified Christ rendering His death in total submission; the Meat offering typified His life while a walked on this earth. Please observe my brothers and sisters that neither one of them typified bearing our sin. In the Burnt Offering we see atonement, but no sin bearing nor imputation of sin, nor any outpouring of wrath on account of sin. How do I know this? Well according to the scriptures in Lev 4:11-12 “And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung, Even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.”

That sacrifice was all consumed on the altar within the camp. If it was to temporarily bear for sin, it would have been consumed outside the camp! Heb 13:11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.”

But, in the Meat offering, there was not even the question of shedding blood. We simply find this offering a magnificent type of Jesus Christ that reflected how He lived, walked, and served down here on this earth. The pure and perfect manhood of our Lord is a theme which commands the attention of every true Saint of God. Jesus, being the expressed image of God who we read and hear about is sufficient to prove the fundamental doctrine of His incarnation, and vicarious suffering!

I am convinced the vital nature of the doctrine of Christ’s humanity is the foundation of the doctrine of Jesus Christ! This is why Satan has fought diligently from the beginning, to lead people astray concerning it. Satan’s purpose is to undermine the truth as it pertains to the Person of Christ. Even when godly men have diligently sought to combat these errors, i.e., the peccable vs. the impeccable nature of Jesus Christ! They have in many cases indulged into modifying the doctrine, and in essence have accommodated the various viewpoints that are in error today. This is why there is a perpetual need for close adherence to the veritable Word of God, which the Holy Spirit illuminates to us, as He unfolds the profound and sacred mystery. Without a doubt I believe that in every case there has to be total subjectivity to the authority of holy scriptures; for they always prove to be an effectual safeguard against every complexion of error.

There are many things that we exhibit failure in by not striving to identify with the perfect manhood found in our Lord Jesus Christ. This is why we suffer so much from barrenness, restlessness, and wantonness. Do we really know and believe that Jesus Christ is the God man, who sits at the right hand of the Majesty in the heavens?  Our Jesus, whose sympathy is perfect, His love is fathomless, His power is omnipotent, His wisdom is infinite, His resources are limitless, His riches are unsearchable, His ear is open to our every cry, His hand is open to our every need, and His heart is full of unspeakable love and tenderness towards us!  Jesus Christ our Meat offering, who is now our High Priest! He is wisdom personified, “who of God is made wisdom to us.”

Hence, in one word we have EVERYTHING in Jesus Christ. My brothers and sisters the divine mind, and divine affections, found the ultimate objective in the man Christ Jesus. The Person of Christ perfectly appeased God, that’s why He is our propitiation, and hence, through the power of the Holy Spirit allows us to walk in communion with God! This is why the Hebrew writer declared with full assurance in Heb 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

Now as a shadow of this perfect man, He passes before us in the “fine flour” which formed the basis of the meat offering. There was not a single piece of coarse grain. There was nothing uneven, nothing unequal, nothing rough to the touch. No matter where the pressure derived there was always an even surface. Jesus was never ruffled by any circumstance or situations. He never had to retrace a step, nor recall a word. I reiterate, whatever opposition came, He always met it in perfect evenness, which is typified by the “fine flour.”

In all these things, it is needless to say, Jesus stands in marked contrast with His most honored and devoted servants. For example, Moses, though considered “the meekest man in all the earth,” at that time, spoke unadvisedly with his lips. In Peter, we experience times of zeal and energy, which at times proved too very bold during various events; and yet he was a coward, because he did not take a stand when it was time to stand strong, and render a powerful testimony when faced with reproach. Hence, it questioned Peter’s devotion that was deemed necessary when called to action!

The beloved John, who spent so much time in the immediate presence of Jesus Christ, exhibited, at times, a sectarian and an intolerant spirit. I also see in Paul, who was a very devoted servant, a considerable amount of unevenness, which could not equate to the “fine flour” He uttered words to the high priest which he had to recall. I also noticed that Paul sent a letter to the Corinthians, of which at first, he repented, and afterwards repented not. In all, we find some flaw in all these great men I mentioned, except in JESUS; who according to Songs 5:10-16My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.”

When I examine the meat offering, it gives me a clear and simplistic thought to consider, first, the materials of which it was composed; second, the various forms in which it was presented; and, third, the persons who partook of it.

As it pertains to the materials, the “fine flour” may be regarded as the basis of the offering; and, in it, we have a type of Christ’s humanity, wherein every perfection is met. This amazing virtue was there, ready for effectual execution according to the season which was assigned to Him. My brothers and sisters the Holy Spirit delights to unfold the glories of Christ’s Person, and to set Him forth in beauty and excellence! Jesus being the Last Adam, contrasts with the First Adam, for we read in 1 Cor. 15:47“the first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.” The First Adam, even in his unfallen condition, was “of the earth;” but the Last Adam who was the second Man was “the Lord from heaven.” Please know my brothers and sister, that it was imperative that the First Adam be tested of the Tree of the KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL!

My brothers and sisters the “oil,” in the meat offering, is a type of the Holy Ghost. Those who study this closely will notice that the oil is applied in a twofold way, hence, we have the Holy Spirit presented in a double aspect in conjunction with the incarnation of the Son. Please notice that the fine flour was “mingled” with oil; and there was oil “poured” upon it. Such was the Type; and in the Anti Type we see our blessed Lord Jesus Christ, first, “conceived,” and then “anointed,” by the Holy Spirit, as referenced in Matt. 1:18,23; and Lev. 3:16. My brothers and sister it is obvious that this is divine! It is one and the same Spirit which records the ingredients of the type, and gives us the facts in the antitype. The one who detailed for us with such amazing precision, with the types and shadows found in the Book of Leviticus; has also in the New Testament enabled us to see how exactly the one corresponds with the other.

The conception of Christ’s humanity by the Holy Ghost in the womb of the Virgin Mary, unfolds one of the most profound mysteries! Yet this mystery was foretold in Gen. 3:15.

Jesus our Meat Offering is unfolded in so many ways! In Luke, we see him as “the Man Christ Jesus”, “the Son of man.” In Matthew, we see Him as “the Son of Abraham” and the “Son of David.” In Mark, we see Him as “the Divine Servant,” and “the Heavenly Workman.” In John, we see Him as “the Son of God,” “the Eternal Word,” “the Life,” and “the Light,” by whom all things are made!

The humanity of the Lord Jesus was, emphatically, “that holy thing.” And, inasmuch as it was wholly without taint, it was wholly without a seed of mortality. We cannot think of mortality, except in connection with sin; and Christ’s humanity had nothing to do with sin, neither personally nor relatively. It is imperative that you always know that Sin was imputed to Him, on that rugged cross, where He was “made sin for us.” But the meat offering does not point to Jesus Christ as a sin-bearer, I reiterate, it foreshadows His perfect life; a life in which He suffered, no doubt, but not as a sin-bearer, not as a substitute, not at the hand of God. It is imperative that I distinctly note this.

The scripture states in ….”But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.” (genomenon ek gunaikos, genomenon hupo nomon…according to my Strong Concordance) This is an essential passage inasmuch as it sets forth our blessed Lord as Son of God, and Son of man. “God sent forth his Son, made of a woman” When I contemplate the Person and ministry of the Lord Jesus, I see how that in every scene and circumstance, He acted by the direct power of the Holy Spirit. Having taken His place as a man down here, He showed us that men should not only live by the Word, but also act by the Spirit of God. Even though as man, His will was perfect; His thoughts, His words, and His acts were all perfect; yet He did not act except by the direct authority of the Word, and power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, please help us to strive to condition our minds to be in line with yours, so that we can be more faithful in following your steps. I truly believe that when we do, our ministry will be more effective, our testimony will be more fruitful, and Jesus will receive all the glory!

The next ingredient in the meat offering was “the frankincense.” I stated previously that the “fine flour” was the basis of the offering. The “oil” and “frankincense” were the two leading adjuncts. The “oil” typifies the power of Christ’s ministry; the “frankincense” typifies the object thereof. The oil teaches us that He did everything by the Spirit of God; and the frankincense teaches that He did everything to the glory of God. The frankincense presents that in the life of Jesus Christ, was exclusively for God. This is evident from the second verse: “And he shall bring it (the meat offering) to Aaron’s sons, the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour to the Lord.”

Hence, in this true meat offering we see the Man Christ Jesus. Within this type was the “fire of the altar” that brought forth the sweet odor of the frankincense; therefore, we see in the Antitype that the more He was “tried” in all situations and circumstances, during His life on earth for 33 years, the more it was manifest in His manhood that there was nothing in Him that could not ascend to the throne of God as a sweet-smelling fragrance! My brothers and sister we see in the burnt offering, Christ “offering himself, without spot, to God;” and in the meat offering, we behold Him presenting all the intrinsic excellence and perfect character of His human nature to God.

This substantiates that He was a perfect self-emptied obedient man on earth, doing the perfect will of God, as He acted by the authority of the word and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Hence, He rendered a sweet fragrance that could only be divinely accepted. The fact that “all the frankincense” was consumed on the altar, solidifies this premise!

There is still another ingredient that remains to be considered to be added to this Meat Offering, “Salt” Lev. 2:13And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.” The expression, “salt of the covenant,” sets forth the enduring character of that covenant. God Himself ordained it, in all things, and it was not to be altered. My brothers and sisters let us look at this from a spiritual and practical point of view for today. It is so much value in the ingredient salt! Col 4:6 “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

The whole lifestyle of the Perfect Man exhibited the power of this principle. His words were not merely words of grace, but words of pungent power. Words divinely framed to preserve from all toxicity and corrupting influence. He never uttered a word that was not redolent with frankincense and seasoned with salt. The former was acceptable to God, the latter was profitable for us, the body of Jesus Christ!

This most definitely is being proven in these last and evil days, for men and women with corrupt hearts cannot tolerate the pungency of the divinely salted meat offering. When I recall the scene recorded in the synagogue of Nazareth in Luke 4:16-29, people could “bear him witness, and wonder at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth;” but when He proceeded to season those words with salt in order to preserve them from the corrupting influence of their national pride, they were offended and wanted to harm Him… Luk 4:28-30 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. But he passing through the midst of them went his way,”

My brothers and sister, please notice in Luke 14,that Jesus’ words of “grace” drew the “great multitudes” to follow Him, but notice instantly He throws in the “salt,” by establishing what it will take to really follow Him! He elaborates “Come, for all things are now ready.” This is the “grace.” But then He adds something and states… “whosoever forsakes not all that he has, cannot be my disciple.” This was the “salt.” Saints, always remember that grace is attractive; but “Salt is good.” A gracious discourse may be popular; but a salted discourse will never be popular. The pure gospel of the grace of God is very attractive to people who look at it with overwhelming flexibility to walk how they want to walk, and hence, people run after it like the multitude for a while; but when the “salt” of a fervid and faithful forsaking of self is required, folks will reject.

We are living in a day that individuals make up their own ingredients for the Meat Offering, things that should always be excluded. Mainly Leaven. (which represents sin) Lev 2:11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire” Leaven was a symbol of evil, leaven puffs up, and honey sours! There was nothing that was puffed up, nor sour in the nature of Jesus Christ, nothing turgid, nothing inflated. All was pure, solid, and genuine. His words might, at times, cut to make us alive in Him, and dead to ourselves; but it never sours. His lifestyle never rose above the occasion. His deportment exhibited the deep reality of one walking in the immediate presence of God.

I praise the Lord everyday as I inquire of Him to search me, mold me, and remove anything that represents ingredients that should not be added in my walk to please Him. I pray that you also will encourage others who are striving to please the Lord and not themselves, nor Satan. I believe that when we truly embrace what Jesus wants us to embrace, we will walk with boldness, and standup to all perpetrators who want add ingredients that are not to be associated with our Meat Offering, (JESUS) and exclaim… “Hey Chefs, I Dare You Add the Wrong Ingredients to My MEAT OFFERING” Please strive to have a “JESUS DAY!”
